PetSaver course – FAQs

Who should attend the course?
Anyone! As long as YOU have an interest in actively caring for the safety and wellness of canines and felines. During the class we focus on hands-on skills practice to ensure proficiency in the techniques. If you are a pet owner or in the pet business (Groomers, Pet Sitters, Vet Techs, Vet Assistants), or volunteer at Animal Rescue Groups this course would be valuable to you and the pets you interact with. No prior training or experience is required to take these classes.

Is there a certification provided after taking the class?
A course completion certificate and wallet ID card valid for a period of two years is provided upon successful completion of the class. As these skills are not used often (thankfully!) we highly recommended to repeat the class every two years and refresh your mind to retain proficiency with the hands-on care skills and techniques. All repeat classes will be discounted. Our course will be updated to the most current standards and techniques.

Where are the classes held?
We are flexible with the location. If you have a room we can use (like a function room, meeting room, classroom, etc.) please let us know. We will confirm the exact location closer to the course date.

How many students per class?
In an effort to maximize student/instructor interaction (particularly during the hands-on skills practice) the maximum class size is 15 students. If you have a large group interested in a private course please contact us in advance.

How long is the course?
The course takes a full day, starting at 9am and ending by 5pm. We will have sufficient time to for lunch and toilet breaks.

Will we be practicing on live animals?
No, we will not. It is unsafe to practice CPR on a live animal and in order to maintain focus during the class it is better to not have our love for animals distract us. We will provide stuffed dogs for you to practice on.

What is the cost involved?
